The 5th Annual Kids Town “EGGStravaganza “on the Green” will be held Sunday, April 9, 2017 in the green space adjacent to Lakeview Regional Medical Center near Covington.
The event is a fundraiser for Tammany Trace Foundation to benefit Kids Town. It will be held from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m. There will be face painting, arts and crafts, games, food, drink, dancing and musical entertainment, inflatables, and egg hunts for approximately 15,000 Easter eggs.
A sure highlight will be a Rubber Duck Regatta Race. For $5, patrons will have a chance to “adopt” a rubber duck that will be placed along with all other entries in a pond onsite. The first duck to cross the finish line of the race will win its owner $500. Second-place winner will receive $250. Third-place winner will receive $100. Only 2,000 ducks will be sold. Adopt-a-duck tickets are available online at www.kidstownsttammany.org or at Lakeview Regional Medical Centers Volunteer Auxiliary Gift Shop, “The Ducks Nest,” and Kids Konnection Playground in Mandeville.
Kids Town will be a western-style railroad town designed for interactive play by children and will include a fire station, a sheriff’s office, a general store and more. When complete, Kids Town will be located near the Tammany Trace headquarters at Koop Drive just north of Mandeville.
Entry to the Kid’s Town EGGStravaganza costs $1 per person. Also, various levels of EGGStravaganza sponsorship are available.
